The ZRB is set to commence the disbursement of the $50 million women empowerment fund promised to Zimbabwe business women.
This fund is targeted at women owned business initiatives in the country, to support and expand such business ventures. The disbursement is done via the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to the women’s bank account, said t Norah Mukura, the central bank’s deputy director.
“The fund is specifically targeted for women owned businesses and we recently started to disburse the funds through the banks, so women will simply go to their banks and micro finance institutions where they can access these funds,” said Mukura.
She also added that the fund will benefit every woman in Zimbabwe including students in Higher and Tertiary institutions.
