Young African Business Leader of the Year Award Goes to Dr. Jesca Mhoja Nkwabi at ABLA 2024

Dr. Jesca Mhoja Nkwabi, CEO of KOM Group of Companies in Tanzania, has been honoured with the well-deserved Young African Business Leader of the Year Award at the 14th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2024.

 

This accolade, presented by the esteemed African Leadership Magazine, recognizes Dr. Jesca’s exceptional contributions and achievements in the business sector, highlighting her remarkable leadership and entrepreneurial spirit.

 

Dr. Jesca Mhoja Nkwabi is an award-winning businesswoman and serial entrepreneur with a distinguished career in education, research, and business consultancy. As the CEO of KOM Group of Companies and the Director of KOM Food Products, she oversees a diverse portfolio of investments in oil processing, cotton ginning, agro-processing, steel, roofing sheets, plastics, pipe manufacturing, and food and beverages production. Her leadership has been pivotal in driving the company’s growth and diversification.

 

Dr. Jesca holds a Master’s degree in International Business and Finance from De Montfort University and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of the West of Scotland, achieving her doctorate at the remarkable age of 27. She has also completed leadership development training at Oxford University and Harvard University. With extensive experience working on global projects, she has established herself as a leading figure in multiple industries.

 

Dr. Jesca’s commitment to youth and women’s entrepreneurship is evident in her active involvement in various initiatives. She serves as the Chairperson of Young Women Entrepreneurs and is a member of Women Power Africa, Women Empowerment Network, and Lionesses of Africa. She regularly conducts workshops on entrepreneurship development and has served as an advisor in the Entrepreneurship Capstone at Ashesi University, Ghana.

 

The African Business Leadership Awards is renowned for celebrating excellence in leadership, innovation, and economic impact across the continent. These awards spotlight individuals, companies, and institutions that exemplify outstanding corporate practices and leadership, aligning with the magazine’s tradition of highlighting the often-overlooked aspects of Africa’s business and leadership landscape.
