Opposition Leader Raila Odinga continually loses “My view is that the electoral commission has done a commendable job,” Lumumba said in a phone interview. “I have no doubt the current administration was validly elected.” his chances of countermanding the outcome of the just concluded election as he has been told by international bodies to take his allegation of result manipulation to court while his supporters were reproofed by security forces.
Odinga’s allegations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission were that proper counting procedures of the vote were not followed and that the computer system used was hacked. However, he has no evidence to his claims.
The U.S, African union, and the European Union has told Odinga that if his claims of rigging in the just concluded election by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission are true, he should take the case to court where it would be handled properly.
A senior official from Odinga’s five-star party has said filing a lawsuit against the IEBC is not an option.
Patrick Lumumba, director of the Kenya School of Law said that while taking the case to court is an appropriate forum for challenging the election, the opposition knows it stands little chance of winning.
