The African Youth Initiative is an exclusive networking movement for African Youths in the British Diaspora. This unique idea was established to assist youths in their development through networking and sharing their voice, with regards to issues that affect African youths and their futures through networking Galas and Award nights. #AYG2016
Meet the African Youth Galas first speaker Tunji Akintokun. Tunji is the director of Cisco Africa. Along with his role at computing giant Cisco, Tunji founded a social enterprise called Your Future, Your Ambition, aimed at inspiring children and young adults from ethnically diverse backgrounds into studying STEM related subjects and pursuing careers in STEM-based industries
In 2015, he won a National Diversity Award for his work and has been selected as part of the top 100 most influential black people in the U.K in 2015. #AYG2016
Meet the African Youth Galas second speaker Professor Frank Lisk. Professor Frank is the University of Warwick Africa Lead, he has recently provided consultancy and technical services to the African Development Bank, World Bank, Africa Progress Panel, UNIDO, UNAIDS to name a few.
He is an author of books, journals and monographs including Agribusiness for Africa’s Prosperity, Moving People’s Health and Sovereignty in Africa, Toward a new architecture of global governance for responding to the HIV/AIDS epidemic to name a few. He is a member of the steering committee for The Global Africa Investment Summit London #AYG2016
