The Super Eagles camp Victoria, Seychelles bristled to life as more players arrived on Tuesday 4th September, 2018 for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Chidozie Awaziem, Henry Onyekuru, Kenneth Omeruo, Semi Ajayi, Kelechi Nwakali, Samuel Kalu, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Bryan Idowu, Francis Uzoho, Simeon Nwankwo and Joel Obi were the first set of players available in camp Victoria.
Brighton and Hove Albion’s Leon Balogun, Turkey-based Ogenyi Onazi, Al Nassr’s Ahmed Musa, Stoke City’s Oghenekaro Etebo, Changchun Yatai’s Odion Ighalo and new invitee Jamilu Collins joined up with the squad at the team’s Savoy Hotel Resort and Spa before lunchtime on Tuesday, bringing the available players to 18.
Reports from the camp stated that Goalkeepers; Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi are expected to join the camp before dinner. The team will be without Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina and William Troost-Ekong for the Seychelles game due to injuries and their places will be taken by the players on the stand-by list.
Gernot Rohr’s men lost their opening game in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against South Africa in Uyo. They will hope to gain maximum points when they play against Seychelles at the 10,000-capacity Stade Linité on Saturday at 1:30 pm (4:30 pm Seychelles time). Seychelles are bottom of the AFCON qualifying group after they lost their opening game to Libya 5-1.
