Princess Victoria Haastrup Named African Female Business Leader of the Year

Princess Victoria Ayodele Haastrup, the Executive Vice Chairman and a shareholder of ENL Consortium Limited in Nigeria, has been awarded the prestigious African Female Business Leader of the Year Award at the 14th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2024. The award, a flagship annual recognition by the African Leadership Magazine, acknowledges exceptional achievements and contributions in the business sector across Africa.

 

Princess Haastrup is also the distinguished Chairman of the Sea Ports Terminal Operators’ Association of Nigeria (STOAN), an umbrella body that comprises key operators of the seaport terminals in Nigeria. A very active and prominent player in the Maritime Sector in Nigeria. Her career is marked by a significant impact on the seaport, particularly in the area of terminal operations, among dockworkers, professional women in maritime associations, and maritime education, among other areas.

 

In a poll conducted by the African Leadership Magazine for the African Business Leadership Awards 2024, Princess Victoria Ayodele Haastrup emerged as the winner of the African Female Business Leader of the Year Award. Her leadership and dedication to corporate governance have impacted Nigeria’s port operations, supporting the maritime sector.

 

The African Business Leadership Awards is renowned for celebrating excellence in leadership, innovation, and impact on the continent’s economic development. These awards highlight individuals, companies, and institutions that demonstrate outstanding corporate practices and leadership in Africa’s business sector, aligning with the magazine’s tradition of showcasing often overlooked aspects of Africa’s businesses and leaders.

 

The award ceremony was a major highlight of the ALM Africa Summit London 2024, a platform for high-level networking, collaboration, and forming strategic partnerships to address challenges and drive change in Africa. Established in 2016, the summit showcases innovative projects and best practices aligned with the continent’s development goals.

 

The 2024 edition of the African Leadership Magazine Africa Summit, themed “Africa Unleashed: Navigating Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities,” provided a strategic platform for leaders to discuss sustainable development pathways. These leaders, along with other distinguished guests from Africa, the UK, and Europe, convened to discuss key issues affecting Africa’s business and socio-economic landscape.

 

The esteemed speakers and attendees shared their valuable insights, experiences, and success stories. Further inspiring fellow participants to seek new strategies and partnerships for advancing Africa’s prosperity. The panel discussion focused on mobilising Africa’s leaders to reimagine Africa’s public-private sector as a catalyst for sustainable progress and development. Participants equally had the opportunity to collaborate and showcase investment opportunities in Africa.
