NIGERIA’S LEADING OPPOSITION PARTY, PDP ELECTS NEW LEADERSHIP

  • 0

Prince Uche Secondus and other contestants were on Saturday elected into the various elective positions in the PDP. Secondus, who was the erstwhile National Vice Chairman of the party staved off competition from Prof. Tunde Adeniran and Chief Raymond Dokpesi who came distant second and third respectively. The convention was the first after the PDP’s sudden ouster from office in 2015 when it lost at the polls to the ruling party – the APC.

The newly elected chairman vowed to lead the party to victory at the 2019 polls, citing the failure of the ruling party to meet the high expectation it sold to Nigerians as the raison d’etre for the resurgent belief in the PDP.

Present at the event were party stalwarts, chieftains, ex-Governors, as well as former vice-president Atiku Abubakar.
