The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has announced the approval of the Federal Executive Council, FEC towards the construction of the 3,050 megawatts Mambilla Hydro-Power project at Gembu in Taraba, Nigeria.
$5.792 billion has been budgeted for the completion of the project which will see the advancement of the country’s economy.
According to the minister, at the completion of the Mambilla Hydro-Power project areas like the agriculture, tourism and energy sectors will be positively affected.
He also claimed that the construction will run for about 72 months (6 years), involving the construction of 700 kilometers of transmission lines and four dams.
