A Highline Secondary School in Goreangab suburb in Namibian capital has been receiving maintenance and infrastructural development from the youth league of the Chinese Communist Party provided through the Chinese Embassy in Namibia for about seven years.
The school principal, Mr. Mesag Kandjii said that the aid contributed immensely to the school infrastructure and environment curating.
“If it were not for the charity of the Chinese, the school could have lost its good shape. Assistance provided has indeed aided fruitfully in the area of infrastructure development and maintenance,”
The assistance has not only been limited to maintenance and renovation, but to environment care as well. “The school also boasts of plants that were donated and planted with the assistance of good Samaritans from China. Certainly, it also meets government half way as we did not have funds for renovation,” said Mesag Kandjii.
“We continue to provide education to our children in well-maintained school, aided by the Chinese Embassy which has had a positive impact,” he added.
The school now provides Chinese language lessons weekly and scholarship under the Namibian Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship Program.
