Mrs. Nana Ama Poku, the deputy Chief executive officer of Ghana Export and Import Bank (EXIM) has emerged as the winner of the African Business Excellence award, as well as a special commendation award from the US state of Georgia. The announcement was made on the 24th of June 2021, during the 6th US-Africa business and policy forum hosted virtually by African Leadership Magazine.
Mrs. Nana Ama Poku received the prestigious award as a result of her outstanding contribution to the banking sector in Ghana.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Poku expressed her appreciation to the organizers and her former bosses whom she said mentored her to be the excellent banker she is today.
She described the endorsements as to the best ‘’leave package’’ adding that it is a good feeling when your hard work is noticed and acknowledged.
Mrs. Poku is definitely a golden fish with no hiding place as she has received a lot of awards and endorsements from several institutions, including the outstanding woman in finance award which she received just some weeks earlier.
The 6th US-Africa business and policy forum saw participants from over 42 countries around the world.
In her LinkedIn page, the award-winning banker dedicated the award to all the women in the world urging them to identify their dream career and adapt to thrive in it with much passion and determination.
On February 2022, Mrs. Nana Ama Poku will be celebrating twenty years in the banking sector.
She is definitely an Amazon to watch in the African banking space.
