The Managing Director of Kenya Pipeline Company, Dr. Macharia Irungu, has received the African Business Inspirational Leadership Award at the recently held ALM Africa Summit 2021 which was held virtually with the theme ‘Africa 4.0: Redefining Growth, Sustainability and Innovation’.
Giving a presentation, Dr. Irungu heartily accepted his award noting that it symbolizes the power of partnership and the strength of stakeholders in the continent working together during the unprecedented times of Covid19. He used the opportunity to commend the workforce at KPC who commit themselves daily to see the development of the company.
“I want to recognize the entire team of Kenya Pipeline who have made it possible for me to receive this award… I am really grateful for the last 2 years. This team has really done what it deserves to do and I say thank you so much, team KPC”
He also appreciated his family for motivating him constantly towards achieving his objectives and serving the country. Expressing his gratitude to key stakeholders that aid the growth of the KPC, he referred to the Business Inspirational Leadership Award as a coveted prize that has become the hallmark of excellence in the African business sphere as every leader seeks.
Dr. Irungu applauded the theme of the Summit as he noted that African businesses must look towards innovative solutions for their businesses. He called for more collaboration and partnership among the business community in Africa, while corporate social responsibility is taken seriously to improve the continent. All of these, according to him, will birth an Africa which can do things differently after the pandemic.
