Kenya’s Qs. David Mathu Celebrated as Young African Business Leader of the Year at ABLA 2024

Qs. David Mathu, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Housing Corporation (NHC) in Kenya, has been celebrated as a co-winner of the prestigious Young African Business Leader of the Year Award at the 14th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2024. This distinguished recognition, presented by the African Leadership Magazine, honors exceptional achievements and contributions in the business sector across Africa.

 

Mr. Mathu is a notable figure in the infrastructure, real estate, and housing sectors, boasting over 15 years of corporate experience and leadership. Currently a Doctoral candidate at the Harbin Institute of Technology in China, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives that have transformed housing delivery and affordability in Kenya. Leveraging technology, fostering partnerships, and advocating for policy changes, he has shown a relentless commitment to creating sustainable and inclusive housing opportunities and enhancing the capacity and competitiveness of the local construction industry and real estate value chain.

 

Qs. Mathu’s role as one of the key drivers of the President of Kenya’s ambitious program to deliver one million affordable housing units in the next five years underscores his leadership and vision. His efforts have not only supported the housing sector but also contributed to Kenya’s socio-economic development by ensuring affordable housing solutions for the masses.

 

Following a poll conducted by the African Leadership Magazine for the African Business Leadership Awards 2024, Qs. David Mathu emerged as a co-winner of the Young African Business Leader of the Year Award. His leadership and innovative approaches in improving housing affordability and delivery have made a significant impact, earning him this well-deserved recognition.

 

The African Business Leadership Awards are renowned for celebrating excellence in leadership, innovation, and impact on the continent’s economic development.
