About
The 2-day conference with the theme THE ROLE OF PARLIAMENT, LOCAL & REGIONAL GOVERNMENTS IN STRENGTHENING PARTICIPATORY DEMOCRACY IN AFRICA, is designed to address the multiple facets of the problems and emerging opportunities of democratic governance in Africa. It would also be bringing together leaders in business, politics, diplomacy, development experts, and members of the academia as well as other major stakeholders to attempt to deconstruct the issues with a view to proffering solutions to the myriads of governance issues facing the continent today.
This event which is also supported by the Georgia Conference of Black Mayors is in congruence with the African Union’s commitment towards building an Africa driven by good governance, democracy and the rule of law. It is also in line with African Union’s Aspiration 3, as contained in AU’s Agenda 2063, which prays for “An Africa of good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law.” Conference participants may submit their revised papers after the conference for possible publication on our various platforms, including our partner publication, African Leadership Magazine UK.
