The 2019 edition of the World Congress and Academic Conference of the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS) is ongoing in Madrid, the capital city of Spain. The conference which started on Monday May 20 will run until Saturday, May 25, 2019, is taking place on the Campus de Somosaguas of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Madrid, Spain.
The organization, headquartered in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, is a global platform for young scholars from disciplines of Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Global Studies, Economics, etc, aimed at promoting scholarship among them through conferences, conventions, study trips, etc. IAPSS aims to enhance and support young academics of the social sciences in every part of the world by creating opportunities to research, connecting with each other and getting to know distant places.
Focusing on the theme “Overcoming Injustice”, this year’s event has drawn students and young researchers in the field of political science and related fields globally to discuss issues relating to conflict, peace building, democracy, development, etc, with the aim of proffering solution to the challenges facing different countries of the world.
The programme consisting of a variety of lectures, workshops, expert panels, and student panels promoting academic excellence in social science research and teaching, is meant to serve as an exchange for the participating international audience.
Mr. Chibueze Ofobuike, a Nigerian doctoral student at the department of Political Science, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Anambra State who is attending the event will present a Paper titled “The Quest for Justice: A Study of the Ọhaneze Ndigbo and IPOB in Seeking Justice for the Igbo Nation in Nigeria”. He will equally be serving as a Panel Chair in one of the numerous panels during the academic event.
