The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, has been honoured with the Special African Leadership Commendation Award in New York.
The premier event took place at the just-concluded 9th edition of the International Forum on African-Caribbean Leadership (IFAL), which was held on the margins of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at the New York Hilton Midtown, USA, with the theme: African-Caribbean Cooperation and Today’s Geopolitics.
The award is in recognition of H.E. Senator Sani’s outstanding legislative achievements. He has displayed that a representative’s ability to draw projects to his district is greatly influenced by his or her character, commitment, network, and willingness to use those resources for the benefit of all. Senator Uba Sani has successfully balanced his duties as the senator for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District and those of a distinguished senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by advancing the interests of his constituents alongside those of other Nigerians, which is a crucial distinction between a senator and a member of the House of Representatives.
Under his leadership, H.E. Senator Uba Sani has written legislation to build the Federal College of Education, Giwa, Birnin Gwari, the Federal College of Forestry Technology and Research, and the Care and Protection of Child Parents, the Rigasa Bill, the Institute of Information and Communication Technology in Kaduna South, the University of Technology Kaduna. Bills to repeal and re-enact the Foreign Exchange (Control and Monitoring) Act, the Firearms Act (Amendment) Act, the NDLEA Act, and the Police Service Commission Act of 2001 have all been introduced. State Police Service Commission Establishment Bill Giwa Kaduna State Federal College of Education Bill Bill, Nigerian Police Act (Amendment) Bill, 1999 Constitution (Alteration) Bill.
These bills, many of which have been passed and signed into law, are some of the unquestionable evidence that Senator Uba Sani has delivered comfortably with an unparalleled enthusiasm and passion for the job.
At the International Forum on African-Caribbean Leadership (IFAL) in New York, H.E. Senator Uba Sani was honoured, alongside the President of Guyana, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali; the Vice President of The Gambia, H.E. Muhammad B. S. Jallow; and the Minister for Sea, Culture, and Tourism, Cabo Verde, Hon. Jose Gonçalves.
