The Tigray Region of Ethiopia recently won a gold medal in recognition of the region’s policies and efforts to curb desertification and further encroachment of drylands. The award program was put together by The World Future Council and backed by the United Nations.
In an interview with Alexandra Wandel, director of the World Future Council, he had this to say; “Ethiopia’s Tigray region shows that restoration of degraded land can be a reality … The model provides hope for other African countries to follow suit,”
