Following the murder of two U.N. investigators earlier this year, the Congolese President Joseph Kabila has vowed to the United Nations General Assembly recently that he would leave no stone unturned in finding and punishing the assassins.
“We are determined to ensure that light is shed on the exact circumstances of this crime and to ensure that this horrendous act … will not remain unpunished,” Kabila said.
Although this vow has not been easy to carry out the president is still relentless over his decision.
Earlier this year, two U.N. investigators were killed in Central Congo while carrying out investigations for a report to the U.N. Security Council. The men include Michael Sharp, an American who was the coordinator of an independent sanction monitoring group, and Zaida Catalan, a swede.
