Mrs. Catherine Uju Ifejika, Chairman/CEO of Brittania-U Nigeria Limited, has been honoured in London with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her leadership and innovative policies that have helped in establishing significant and sustained contributions to the development and dissemination of ethical principles.
She has partnered with local Nigerian communities, hiring locals and engaging in community-development programmes to improve people’s well-being, quality of life, job opportunities, and a safe and clean environment. The Chairman/CEO was honoured during the 8th African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) 2023, which was held on July 11th, 2023, at The Dorchester Hotel, Mayfair, London.
She is a lawyer and legal expert in the Nigerian and global oil sectors, an exceptional and ethical leader who broke the glass ceiling by becoming, so far, the first and only woman to own 100% interest in and operate an Oil block around the world. Among other key energy infrastructure in Nigeria, Brittania-U, under her able leadership, owns a Floating Storage and Offloading facility (Ajapa Oil Export Terminal), which is the largest Gross Tonnage vessel flying the Nigeria Flag. She has set up six subsidiary companies in the fourteen (14) years of the Company’s existence.
