The Unsung Hero Award is borne out of the need to recognize and showcase the impact of Nigerians in various fields of endeavour who have made substantive impact in the society but are often unappreciated for their sacrifices to humanity. We are therefore calling on the Nigeria public to nominate Nigerians from all walks of life who are making a significant difference in their communities and the larger society.
This Awards, which come with a cash prize, places value on characteristics that are often undervalued in developing nations such as ours. The award recipients must exhibit traits such as leadership, resilience, service to humanity as well as mentorship to others.
A shortlist of nominees will be selected from the results gathered via a call for nomination, for a second round of vetting by our editorial board. A cash PRIZE of Five hundred thousand Naira (Donated by one of our sponsors) shall be presented to the winner along with an award certificate. The Nigeria Unsung Hero Award PRIZE shall be bestowed during the Nigeria Democracy and Development Forum on the 3rd February 2019 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja at 6.00 pm. All Final Nominees shall be invited to attend the Ceremony.
Criteria for Selection
Must be a Nigerian Citizen and resident, making significant contributions to his / her community, often unnoticed or not sufficiently appreciated.

Hard copy letters/submissions can be made to our Abuja office at 13 Mambilla Street, Off Aso Drive, FCT Abuja, Nigeria. All nominations should be supported with documents, links, photos, videos, etc
Nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee and the Editors of the magazine. A shortlist of nominees will be unveiled after an assessment and verification of claims/submissions.
Nominations close on Sunday, January 20th, 2019, at midnight Nigerian time.
