The African Business Leadership Awards is an annual event by the African Leadership Magazine, that honours the exceptional achievements and contributions in the business sector across Africa. The award celebrates excellence in leadership, innovation, and impact on the continent’s economic development. These awards recognize individuals, companies, and institutions that perform outstandingly with corporate practices and leadership in Africa’s business sector; aligning with ALM’s tradition of showcasing often overlooked aspects of Africa’s businesses and leaders.

The ABLA was the highlight of the ALM Africa Summit London 2024, a major platform for high-level networking, collaboration, and forming strategic partnerships to address challenges and drive change in Africa. The summit was established in 2016, to showcase the innovative projects and practices aligned with the continent’s development goals.

The 2024 edition of the ALM Africa Summit, themed “Africa Unleashed: Navigating Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities,” served as a platform for leaders to deliberate on pathways toward the sustainable development of the continent. The summit featured esteemed speakers, including The Right Hon. Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa, Speaker of the Liberia House of Representatives; Dr. Olavo Correia, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Finance of Cape Verde; The Right Hon. Lord Dollar Popat, UK House of Lords Member & Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Rwanda, Uganda & DRC; and H.E. Rindra Rabarinirinarison, Minister of Economy & Finance of Madagascar. These leaders, along with other distinguished guests from Africa, the UK, and Europe, convened to discuss key issues affecting Africa’s business and socio-economic landscape.

There were notable attendees in this year’s edition of the award who provided valuable insights, experiences, and success stories of their business journey in the African space. Participants of the summit sought new strategies and partnerships towards advancing Africa’s prosperity. The panel discussion focused on mobilising Africa’s public-private sector as a sustainable progress and development catalyst. Participants equally had the opportunity to collaborate and showcase investment opportunities within Africa.
