Bandim Online is the winner of the Guinea Bissau round of Seedstars World. The agritech startup will now represent the country the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland to compete for up to $1 million in equity investment and other prizes.
Bandim Online, with the idea to reduce the loss of products from the producer to the customer by providing product on time with best prices, was named “Best Startup in Guinea Bissau” for its innovative sustainable solution.
“Winning Seedstars Bissau is one of the best things that can happen to me! I’m really happy to finally be part of the big family Seedstars and represent Guinea Bissau next April in Lausanne”, Aimonia Cabral, CEO at Bandim Online said.
As a part of the prize, Bandim Online will be participating at the Seedstars Summit, which takes place in Switzerland, in April 2019. The summit is a weeklong training program, with the opportunity to meet the more than 65 winners from other fast-growing economies, as well as investors and mentors from around the world. The final day of the Summit is dedicated to pitching in front of an audience of more than 1000 attendees, with the possibility of winning up to USD one million in equity investment and other prizes.
Ubuntu 2S, with its combination of solar and ICT to give Africans access to clean energy, create job opportunities and change people lives, came second and IGOPE, with its idea, is to collect and organize the opinion of society on various social issues, grabbed the last spot in the top 3.
Seedstars World’s next stop is Abidjan at Seedspace Abidjan, to select the best startup in Ivory Coast. Seedstars World is looking for smart startups that solve regional issues and/or develop profitable products for the global market.
