As Africans mark the Africa Day today, the African Diaspora Forum has questioned the way South Africa manages the migration of Africans into the country.
The forum says South Africa must be more open to Africans moving to the country and not feel threatened by them taking jobs.
The forum’s Marc Gbaffou says citizens must not chase Africans out of the country.
“The challenge we need to solve is migration. We have been dealing with it so long and it has become a burden. All of us need to see whether we’re handling migration properly.”

Meanwhile, President Jacob Zuma will host the National Africa Day celebration at the presidential guesthouse in Pretoria.
The president said the celebration of Africa day also provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the contribution of the African continent to South Africa’s struggle for liberation.
