The African Leadership Magazine is today pleased to announce the winners of the African Good Governance Awards 2023, following the call for nominations, which ended on March 20th, 2023, and attracted entries and submissions via email, direct messages on social media platforms, and physical posts from Africans across the continent and in Diaspora.
All winners would be formally decorated with the instruments of the honour at honour during the inaugural International Conference on African Political Leadership, scheduled to hold on May 18th, 2023, at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, Broad Sanctuary, London SW1P 3EE, United Kingdom, with the theme: Collaborative Political Leadership For Leapfrogging Africa’s Development.
The African Good Governance Poll rewards outstanding political and government leaders who have exhibited exceptional leadership and outstanding performance in governance. It is a special recognition of African leaders across all levels, including the national and federal governments, provincial and state governments, local and city governments, as well as public sector initiatives and programmes that are making outstanding contributions to Africa’s socio-economic development, with concerted efforts towards positioning their respective countries as a cynosure of development in the continent. The awards is part of efforts of the African Leadership Magazine’s to present the sides of the continent’s political and government leaders, which hardly find placement on global media platforms– celebrating exemplary political leadership and good governance on the continent.
The African Good Governance Award (AGGA) has a 2-step points-based selection process that includes a call for nomination and the African Leadership Magazine editorial board’s final review of the nominations and entries– using supporting evidence and other considerations in their final decisions for winners of the African Good Governance Awards. In the final review process, the publisher of the African Leadership Magazine, Dr Ken Giami maintained that the ultimate aim of the African Good Governance Poll is to monitor the performance of African political and government leaders, gauge the mood of the electorates, as well as engender peer review amongst leaders to promote good governance and people-centred policies in line with the expectations of the people.
