Egypt’s engineering industry exports increased by about 31 per cent to register $1.551 billion in the first five months of 2022, compared to $1.185 billion during the same period last year, according to the monthly report of the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EECE).
The engineering industries’ exports increased by 25 per cent in May 2022, reaching $264.7 million, compared to $211.7 million in May 2021, added to the report.
Regarding the most important sectors whose exports increased during the first five months of 2022, the report revealed that exports of electrical appliances increased by 52 per cent, cables achieved an 81 per cent growth rate, car components recorded a 6.1 per cent increase, and household appliances increased 14 per cent.
The UK, Slovakia, France, German, Spain, the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan and Lebanon topped the list of countries that increased imports of Egypt’s engineering industries.
