The Central Bank of Seychelles Governor, Ms. Caroline Abel, has received a commendation award as a runner-up of the Central Bank Governor of the Year Category. The commendation was conferred on her during the 11th edition of the Africa Business Leadership Awards, a key highlight of the Invest in Africa Summit 2021.
Speaking at the virtual event, which was tagged ‘Africa 4.0: Redefining Growth, Sustainability, and Innovation’, Abel accepted the award, noting that she was deeply honoured to receive the commendation award presented by ALM.
“… I accept this award today not only on my behalf but on behalf of my team at the bank. This achievement is not only attributed to my role as Governor, but it is also a testament to the continuous support, dedication, hard work, and sacrifices that have not gone unnoticed, she said.
Ms. Abel called out the dedication and drive of the bank’s workforce, who work consistently to help it deliver on its mandate. She hoped that the recognition and award would be a source of inspiration to the staff in their role as guardians of Seychelles’ economy.
She appreciated the Magazine for recognizing and celebrating the work of leaders across various sectors on the African continent. She also congratulated other awardees, especially Mr. Harvesh Seegolam, her Mauritian counterpart, given that the efforts of both island nations ring loud across the continent.
