The Africa Energy Summit Award is aimed at recognizing and celebrating the outstanding contributions, notable strides and significant service of individuals, stakeholders and organisations in the continent’s oil and gas sector. We are therefore calling on Africans to nominate energy moguls who have played key roles in the expansion and development of the oil and gas industry in Africa.
These awards place value on characteristics which are often undervalued in developing nations such as ours.
AFRICAN OIL & GAS CEO OF THE YEAR (UPSTREAM)
This award recognizes the exceptional CEO in the upstream sector whose vision, innovations and management abilities have helped steer his company successfully in both his home country and in the global marketplace, driving growth, success, profitability and promotes local participation.
AFRICAN OIL & GAS CEO OF THE YEAR (DOWNSTREAM)
This award recognizes the exceptional CEO in the downstream sector whose vision, innovations and management abilities have helped steer his company successfully in both his home country and in the global marketplace, driving growth, success, profitability and promotes local participation.
AFRICAN OIL & GAS FEMALE CEO OF THE YEAR:
This award recognizes exceptional leadership and managerial skill in a female business leader; who in spite of stiff competition in a male-dominated industry, has shown resilience, courage and sagacity in building a worthy brand.
AFRICAN REGULATOR OF THE YEAR:
This Award recognizes a government regulatory agency for effective regulatory or policy initiatives and programs, implemented across national or regional levels that encourages action beyond compliance with applicable laws, enhances stakeholder engagement and contributes to the growth of the National or Regional/States brand through the practical impact on the people.
AFRICAN PETROLEUM/ENERGY MINISTER OF THE YEAR:
This award recognizes outstanding petroleum/energy minister who through proactive policies have enhanced their national economic outlook and supported the growth of local content participation.
YOUNG BUSINESS LEADER OF THE YEAR AWARD:
This award recognizes young African Business leaders, 40 years of age or below, whose outstanding business successes and verifiable business journey have made them role models and inspirational success stories in the energy sector.
AFRICAN CSR IMPACT AWARD:
This award recognizes businesses whose profits have been effectively channelled to impacting their communities through their corporate social responsibility contributions to the arts, education, environment and community development, making societal impact a corporate priority.

BANK OF THE YEAR
This award recognizes the banks that play a major role in financing deals in the oil & gas sector and supports the growth of local participation.
A shortlist of nominees will be selected from the results gathered via a call for nomination, for a second round of vetting by our editorial board.

Hard copy letters/submissions can be made to our Abuja office at 13 Mambilla Street, Off Aso Drive, FCT Abuja, Nigeria.
Nominations will be reviewed by the Award Committee. A shortlist of nominees will be unveiled after an assessment and verification of claims/submissions.
Nominations should be submitted no later than Friday, September 27th, 2019. Late submissions shall not be considered.
