Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi yesterday launched a new initiative dubbed “Egypt-Africa” to develop digital gaming technology across the continent, local media sources reported.

The initiative was said to be “aiming to train more than 10,000 Egyptian and African youth in digital technology.”

“We are working to involve people with special needs in the process through applying information technology,” Al-Sisi said during Egypt’s 22nd Cairo ICT 2018 conference.

He pointed out that the government had supported projects that promote creativity and entrepreneurship, in addition to “supporting initiatives aimed at investing in the Egyptians.”

The government, the Egyptian leader noted, has always been keen on “localizing technology” across the country’s different governorates. The project will provide equal opportunities for all citizens to participate in the development process, Al-Sisi said, increase productivity and improve the standards of living.
