Burkina Faso is keen on giving a boost to its economic relations with Singapore, through a mutual investment promotion and protection agreement (APPI) and a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, APA learns from the Economy and Finance Ministry.
Before the end of 2015, Burkina Faso will be receiving commercial missions of Singaporean investors in the fields of agribusiness, water treatment, ICT, air transport and energy.
This promise came in the wake of the 3rd Africa-Singapore Business Forum held in late August 2014 in the presence of an important delegation from Burkina Faso, led by Prime Minister Luc Adolphe Tiao.
Burkina Faso’s exports to Singapore are mainly cotton, sesame, cashew nuts and shea almonds. The amount jumped from 23.8 billion CFA francs in 2008 to over 30 billion CFA francs in 2014.
