A total of 7 million tourists visited Morocco in the first seven months of 2018, up 7 per cent year on year, according to statistics released by the Moroccan Tourism Ministry.
The number of foreign tourists jumped by 15 per cent, while the arrivals of Moroccans living abroad rose 1 per cent between January and July, the statistics showed.
The growth was mainly driven by the continuous increase of visits from traditional European markets.
The statistics showed an increase of 14 per cent in Italian tourist arrivals, 9 per cent in German tourists, 6 per cent in French visitors, and 5 per cent in British tourists.
Meanwhile, tourism revenues reached 3.83 billion U.S. dollars between January and July, 9.4 per cent higher from a year ago.
In 2017, Morocco registered a record 11.35 million tourist arrivals, 10 per cent more than 2016.
